Course Title: LEED / Green Certified Erosion Control Products

Course Description: Learn about new products that are a green sustainable alternative and will save your customers money, along with reducing the impact to our environment.

Flexamat:  LEED Certified product that is “New to the Carolina’s”. Direct replacement for rip rap and poured concrete. Made with 5,000 psi concrete blocks with a geogrid and comes in roll form and various widths. Applications include Shoreline Stabilization, Storm Water Channels, Inlet/Outlet Protection, etc.

Diamond Sock:  Green Filter Socks are a direct replacement to silt fencing, approved by the NCDOT and SCDOT. They are “Environmentally Friendly” and we will demonstrate how Filter Socks are a cost effective alternative to the old practice of using silt fencing. Constructed with hardwood chips and photo degradable mesh.

Organic Compost Blanket / Seed Blend:  Better alternative than fertilizer. You will learn the benefits of how compost feeds the soil with microbes and nutrients that promote root growth, maintains moisture content in the soil and is an excellent way to prevent erosion with our compost blankets. EPA listed BMP.
